The Remix Collection
The Remix Collection is a showcase of some of my own favorite works through the years — not just because of my fondness for them, but because of the demonstrable effort poured into each one.
These tracks’ original releases go back as far as 2004 or 2005, when I first started taking production seriously (A few bangy hard house tracks predate that period, some of which might yet again see the light). The first release of many of these songs were on mixtapes shared with friends, and I would hate for a worn-out cassette tape to be the end of their story.
I think the originals have held up fairly well over that time and remain cherished standouts, but they’ve also taken on new life through later releases and (often so-titled “Modern”) remixes. The remixes aren’t fixes to the originals, but rather a different perspective on the same ideas, through a lens shaped by decades of growth. So much has changed since then.
“Alice replied, rather shyly, “I—I hardly know, Sir, just at present—at least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.”
- Lewis Caroll, Alice in Wonderland
Some of these are free to download, but I warmly invite you to explore some of my favorite memories.
